Perilous Shore

Perilous Shore is the sixth installment in the Carlisle & Holbrooke naval adventure series, set during the mid-18th century when amphibious warfare is still in its infancy. The story follows Commander George Holbrooke as he becomes deeply involved in the development of landing craft and leads a division of flatboats into the perilous beaches of Normandy and Brittany. Amidst relentless battles with shore batteries and the French Navy, Holbrooke faces his greatest challenges during a tense retreat from Saint-Malo, against the backdrop of the Seven Years War and shifting British colonial relations.
