Useful Junk

Erika Meitner's collection, Useful Junk, offers a deeply personal and accessible exploration of contemporary life, blending confessional, autobiographical, and political poetry. The book includes documentary poems commissioned by the City of Miami that address themes like built environments and sea-level rise, along with poem-letters that delve into cross-generational friendships and self-discovery. Through engaging with themes such as desire, virtual spaces, and technological influence, Meitner presents a nuanced reflection on navigating identity and connection amid today’s global crises.
