The Book of Matthew: A Commentary

The Gospel of Matthew presents Jesus Christ as the Messiah and King, highlighting his Jewish heritage with a rich use of Old Testament quotations. Written by a Jew for a Jewish audience, it uniquely includes ten parables not found in other Gospels and emphasizes the fulfillment of prophecies, using the term "fulfilled" 82 times. Scholars suggest that it was likely composed before 57-60 AD, contributing to the early New Testament narrative.
