Some Do Not…

Some Do Not… is the first novel in Ford Madox Ford's celebrated Parade's End tetralogy, exploring the complexities of love and war through the experiences of Christopher Tietjens, a wealthy British landowner, his wife Sylvia, and his mistress Valentine Wannop. Set against the backdrop of World War I from 1912 to 1917, the novel delves into the emotional and societal impacts of the conflict rather than the battles themselves. Widely regarded as a significant 20th-century work, it offers a powerful portrayal of the era's turmoil and the human condition.
