In The Daring Life and Deadly Times of Eve Adams, historian Jonathan Ned Katz uncovers the remarkable story of Eve Adams, a Polish Jewish émigré who became an early activist for LGBTQ+ rights in America. Known for her radical friendships and outspoken ways, Adams published the groundbreaking book Lesbian Love in 1925, drawing attention from authorities that led to her arrest and deportation. This biography details her brave life amidst societal repression, along with the rediscovery of her lost work, highlighting her significant, though tragic, legacy in the history of activism.
