The Italian Ballerina

Set against the backdrop of Nazi-occupied Rome in 1943, The Italian Ballerina follows British ballerina Julia Bradbury as she seeks refuge in a hospital on Tiber Island amid the chaos of war. There, she joins forces with hospital staff and Allied medics to orchestrate a daring rescue of Jewish Italians from the Holocaust, motivated by a young girl who dreams of becoming a dancer. In parallel, present-day Delaney Coleman embarks on a journey to uncover her grandfather's hidden past after a mysterious Italian woman contacts her about a family heirloom. This poignant novel unfolds through real historical events, exploring themes of sacrifice, faith, and the profound impact of saving lives.
