Cotton Patch Gospel: Luke and Acts

The Cotton Patch Gospel presents a unique adaptation of Jesus' stories and the letters of Paul and Peter, translating them into the vernacular of the mid-20th century South. Emerging from the Civil Rights movement, these translations localize the New Testament, making the narratives resonate within familiar settings like Gainesville and Selma. As Jordan emphasizes, this retelling aims to immerse listeners in the faith, inviting them to actively participate rather than remain mere spectators.
