The Status Civilization

In "The Status Civilization," Robert Sheckley follows Will Barrent, who awakens on the harsh, brutal planet of Omega with no memory of his past or any crimes he may have committed. This world, designed to house the most extreme offenders, forces its inhabitants to engage in a violent hierarchy, with survival contingent upon committing more crimes. As Barrent navigates this treacherous society, he seeks a way to escape and return to Earth to clear his name.
